JET - Times Like These

One of the most successful Australian bands of the last decade is JET.

With 3 strong albums under their belt, several world tours including a mammoth stint in the US, Performing at the winter olympics in Vancouver and supporting the likes of Green Day & Powderfinger on national tours, as well as selling out their own headling tour they've had some great achievements for a band that was started in the suburbs of Melbourne.

Funnily enough though, it wasn't until I actually met them at a party earlier this year that I listened to their music. I'd heard "Are you gonna be my girl" but just never took the time to listen to them. I really should have.

My BFF gave me a copy of Shaka Rock about a week later (this was in February mind you) and it has not left my car CD player since. It's a well written, well produced album which gives JET a new sound without comprimising the style that they've come to know JET for. This song, "Times Like These" makes me crank up the stereo every time - especially when the whistle kicks in because anyone who knows me knows I love a whistle!
