I was about 13 when I first heard Stone Temple Pilots. I was watching channel 31, a random public access channel that we had here in Sydney and I remember hearing "Interstate Love Song" and literally running out of the house to the bus stop, and into the city to HMV to buy the CD "Purple" which had ILS and also one of their biggest hits, Vasoline, on it.
Many years later the band, headed by the awesome Scott Weiland, released an album called "No.4" and along came this song - Sour Girl. Although they had recorded an album in between "Purple & No. 4" their sound had not changed - and that's one of the things I like about STP - they are consistant in their writing, and haven't changed their style because everyone else around at the same time (Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers etc) has.
This particular song features Sarah Michelle Gellar, at the height of her popularity in "Buffy" looking rather macabre and dark. I'm not entirely sure of why they chose her to be in this clip, but it seems to work.
Enjoy!
