One of my favourite bands is Alexisonfire. Dallas Green, their frontman & songwriter is an amazingly talented Canadian who has also had success with his solo project, City & Colour and his soulful voice melts my ears & heart every time I hear him. It doesn't hurt that he's pretty good to look at too!
This song from the album Crisis, To a Friend, has helped me through some hard times. This is always the first song that comes into my mind when I feel betrayed by someone I care about, particularly the lyrics;

I listened to this song every night for almost a year before I went to sleep during 1 particularly hard period in my life. I will probably continue to listen to it to get me through many other hard times as they arise.
