Triple J introduced me to 2 relatively unknown artists back in 2003 - Alex Lloyd & Pete Murray. Both had released their debut singles around the same time & were getting played on high rotation every day. I like Alex Lloyd but his music became a bit predictable after Black the Sun.
The office I worked in at the time would always have Triple J on in the background and I would sit there every day eagerly awaiting my daily fix of Pete Murray's Feeler. When it came on I always turned up the radio, even if I was on the phone to someone, and sing along to it. It's such a hauntingly beautiful song & made Pete into the aussie icon that he is today.
7 years on & I can still listen to this song & not get sick of it. For me that's the test of what makes a good song - longevity.
