2010 - musical highs & lows...

Musical highs of 2010

- bed intruder. I guarantee I will still be laughing at this in 10 & 20 years time, it's pure hilarity.
- the awesome music coming out of Sweden - mainly Robyn, Adrian Lux & The Subs.
- anything by Sleigh Bells.
- The xx remix of "you've got the love" because it makes the song not only listenable but also enjoyable.
- the emerging bands from Australia & NZ who are kicking ass at not only a local but also some at international level - namely tame impala, cloud control, little red, the jezabels, naked & famous, dead letter circus, tim & jean, alpine, Miami horror... The list goes on!
- my chemical romance getting back to their roots with danger days...
- die antwoord - thanks to will styles for playing this to me back in march, it's not only entertaining but also their rhymes flow pretty well
- groove armada's funny recount of their run in with kings of leon at Glastonbury. I cried laughing, reading it.

Musical lows of 2010

- ke$ha. Need I say more?
- the ARIA's - yes, it was just as much of a car crash being there as it was on TV
- kings of leon's new album - seriously, is it just songs that were written for the last album with no new material? It sounds that way
- Australian hip hop - it just keeps getting worse & worse. Groups like Bliss & Eso are so over-rated yet talented groups like the funkoars barely register on the radar
- black eyed peas. Auto tuned audio monstrosity. Go back to before fergie joined & for the love of god start writing decent, non manipulated music again!
- powderfinger retiring. RIP to one of Australia's most long standing, kick ass rock bands.

Here's to an exciting 2011!
